How to stop yourself being scammed by internet dating site scammers

Whilst this is a page I hope this site never needs, given the nature of some people on the internet it is very much a page that must be wrote.

It is sad but true that some people are willing to take advantage of the human need to find others in a effort to financially profit themselves. We hope we don't have any scammers but invariably sites like this attract their free share (especially when they are free). Fortunately they tend two fall into two categories the smart and the not so smart so here we have advice on how to keep yourself safe from internet dating scammers.

The warning signs

  1. They will ask for money if you have never meet someone and they ask you for money your being scammed most will do this within 5 emails however some can take up to six months (possibly longer)
  2. They are from obscure part the world in relation to you. It greatly aids the scammer if they pick an area or country that is unfamiliar to you they can make up cultural differences they can basically make up there own little imaginary world and how will you know if they are telling the truth or not?
  3. They is a 'good' cause that needs money. They may start by saying there are emailing from an internet cafe (no doubt there funds will run out shortly and they will starting asking you for money) they may have sick relatives, they many want to go to school, they may want money for flight to come see you (why are they so keen they book it as opposed to you?) they may have any manner or reason that will be their 'good cause'
  4. They will be excessive clingy or you may find the emails developing at an astounding rate (marriage proposal after two emails, missing you after a week) we sure hope you can find love at first sit but these aren't the signs of it, the idea is build an obligation in you to reply
  5. They may be something unusual about the attraction, in most cause this is where the target is significantly older than the scammer
  6. Fraud is universally illegal consider reporting it
  7. Charity is complex issue involving logistics, organisation and vast resource if you are tryin to held someone that may be would be scammer would you not be better donating your hard earned cash to formal local charity that will ensure it gets to the right people than take a chance that you could be sending it someone who doesn't need it in the first place.

Have fun be outgoing but play safe

Finally not everyone is a scammer, so people do form bonds quickly but it is up till you to use your judgment this page in intended only to act as a guide to what the warning bells may be.
